Executive & Professional Coaching
Taking responsibility is often the beginning of freedom
My approach to coaching
Coaching is a structured reflection process that helps you clarify your thinking, see situations from different angles, and make conscious choices about how you want to move forward.
It is not about advice, ready-made solutions, or quick fixes.
Coaching works best for people who are willing to look honestly at themselves, take responsibility for their choices, and experiment with change. Coaching is not about feeling better without doing things differently.
If you are ready to take up the reins of your professional or personal life, I work with you as a sparring partner to explore options, make decisions, and move from reflection into action.

Coaching for EU Public Affairs Professionals
Navigating specific challenges to Brussels-based roles
Working in EU Public Affairs means operating in a demanding environment shaped by complexity, constant change and competing expectations. Coaching can be particularly useful during periods of transition, uncertainty or increased responsibility. For example:
- moving from a policy expert role into a leadership position
- questioning whether to stay in Public Affairs or explore a different professional direction
- deciding whether Brussels is still the right place professionally or personally
- dealing with pressure, ambiguity, and work where impact is often indirect, long-term and difficult to measure
Coaching offers a space to step back from day-to-day pressure and gain clarity on what matters most to you: your goals, your options, your direction and your next steps.
Practical note: Clients eligible for VDAB career cheques can use them for career coaching trajectories through my affiliation with the career centre My Future Works.
Coaching for Executives and Team Leaders
Exploring leadership presence, congruence and impact
Leadership often leaves little space to slow down and reflect. Yet this is exactly what complex roles require. Executives and team leaders are expected to take decisions, motivate others, mitigate conflicts and manage uncertainty.
Many executives and team leaders seek coaching when they are:
- navigating ongoing tensions between strategic demands, people management and their own limits
- struggling with authority, communication and personal impact, particularly when motivation and performance in teams are under pressure
- dealing with conflicts, resistance or undercurrents that cannot be resolved through formal role and hierarchy alone
- wrestling with decisions in environments where expectations are high and trade-offs are unavoidable
As a sparring partner, I support you in thinking situations through in depth, testing options before acting and translating insight into clear and deliberate next steps.
Horse-Reflected Coaching
Revealing what lies beneath the surface
Sometimes, the most relevant insights don’t emerge through talking alone. Horse-reflected coaching creates a space to step outside the usual setting and encounter yourself from a different angle.
In this one-to-one coaching format, the horse becomes a powerful mirror. Horses react to what is present in the moment: your presence, intention and energy. They make visible where your inner stance and your outward behaviour are aligned, and where they diverge.
You come with a concrete question, dilemma or theme. I facilitate the process and frame the reflection. The interaction with the horse offers direct and honest feedback that you can carry into your professional and personal life.
All sessions take place on the ground, in a calm setting with gentle horses. No prior experience with horses is required, only curiosity and a willingness to engage.
Horse-reflected coaching can be particularly valuable when you are:
- facing a significant decision or transition
- navigating role clarity, responsibility or conflicts
- going in circles around the same issue
- feeling caught in recurring patterns
- struggling to say no and set clear boundaries
- seeking greater authenticity, presence and self-confidence
The experience often leads to a kind of clarity that is difficult to access through conversation alone, because it is felt, not just understood.

Horse-Reflected Coaching
"The coaching session that I had with Ulrike and a horse was an eye-opening experience. Through his behaviour the horse showed me without any mercy my weak spot, which made me look at my emotional life in a different way. Ulrike skillfully facilitated the process and helped me translate the experience into something I could actually work with."
Rian S., Education Consultant
"I tend to rationalise emotions and analyse situations intellectually, so this experience invited me to engage differently. Working with the horse helped me become more aware of what I was feeling and gave me a new perspective on an important decision. Ulrike created a calm and safe setting throughout the session, which made it easy to trust the process.”
